A limited number of Graduate Assistantships are offered by UNLV Bands.
We offer successful applicants administrative and leadership opportunities to work with the UNLV Wind Orchestra, the UNLV Star of Nevada Marching Band and the UNLV Symphonic Winds in a direct and important capacity.
A genuine incentive, the Doctoral Graduate Assistantship is currently worth $12,000. Assistants are required to work 20 hours per week and fulfill requirements as negotiated by contract.
UNLV Wind Orchestra Assistants are responsible for the maintenance of regular rehearsals, tour/concert planning, concert coordination (ticketing, venue liason, program liaison) and the general administration of the ensemble.
UNLV Star of Nevada Marching Band Assistants gain valuable experience in writing and teaching drill, putting together small ensembles for various events, traveling to out-of-state games and assisting in music direction
