Andrew Smouse

Andrew J. Smouse comes to Nevada from Pennsylvania.  He graduated summa cum laude from Kutztown University with a bachelor’s in music education.  As a percussionist, Smouse studied with Dr. Frank Kumor and Dr. Willis Rapp. During his time at Kutztown University he performed as a timpanist and percussionist with the Kutztown University Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble.  He also served as a percussion instructor and arranger throughout the state of Pennsylvania, including working with under privileged students for the Reading Musical Foundation.  Smouse served as guest conductor with the Kutztown University Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Percussion Ensemble, Kutztown Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi’s 35th Anniversary Band, and various public schools in Pennsylvania.  He still serves as the conductor of the Bedford Symphonic Winds in his hometown of Bedford, Pennsylvania.  His conducting teachers included Dr. Timothy Running and Dr. Willis Rapp.
