Drum major auditions for the 2011 Star of Nevada Marching Band will take place on Wednesday, May 4th. Interested persons MUST notify Prof. LaBounty by the end of April with intent to audition. Auditionees must have sophomore (or higher) standing. Please click here for more details.

The 100-plus member UNLV "Star of Nevada" Marching band is comprised of undergraduate and graduate students representing eleven colleges at the University. The band performs at all UNLV Rebel home football games, University sponsored events and special performance engagements on the fabulous Las Vegas Strip. The goal for the "Star of Nevada" marching band is to be a leader in quality, commitment, and esprit de corps within the production of all performances.

THE UNLV Star of Nevada MARCHING BAND IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE APPOINTMENT OF UNLV ALUM BRIAN HOWERTON AS UNLV DRUMLINE INSTRUCTOR. In addition to his new duties with the UNLV Drumline, Brian Howerton will retain his position as the Executive Director/Founder of The Vegas Vanguard Independent Indoor Percussion Ensemble. In addition to years of experience as both teacher and performer, Howerton also brings notable corporate and professional support as a member of the Vic Firth Education Team. Howerton is also a Pearl/Adams Marching Percussion Education Artist, Remo Marching Percussion Education Artist and a Sabian Marching Percussion Education Artist.
