Tyler Cranor
Doctoral Graduate Assistant 

Before arriving at UNLV, Tyler served as the Director Of Bands at South Fort Myers High School, in Fort Myers, Florida, spent 8 years as a middle and high school band director in Oregon, and served as the Executive Director of the Central Oregon Youth Orchestra for 3 seasons. 

During his 10 years as a secondary school band director, Tyler's ensembles have received numerous awards and accolades, including: winning multiple titles at the Oregon state band festival, superior performance ratings at festivals from Seattle to Los Angeles, and invitations to perform in the Edison Festival Of Lights, Naples St. Patrick's Day, and Dunbar Easter Parades in Southwest Florida.
In 2011, Tyler graduated from the University of Oregon with his Masters in Instrumental Music Education. Immediately following his graduation, he joined the 204th Army Band out of Vancouver, WA. He continues to be a member today.

As a conductor, Tyler has led the following ensembles: 204th Army Band, Oregon Wind Ensemble, High Desert Winds, Central Oregon Youth Orchestra, Central Oregon Honor Band, Oregon Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble. In addition, he has served as the musical director and conductor for productions of the following musicals: Jesus Christ Superstar, Avenue Q, The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Freaky Friday and Urinetown.
As a bassist he has performed with the following ensembles: The 204th Army Band, the Disneyland College Band, the Central Oregon Symphony, the Oregon Jazz Ensemble, and for numerous musical production companies as a freelancer. He has also performed with the following artists and modern pop ensembles: Ron McCurdy, Greg Field, Steve Houghton, Sal Lazano, Jiggs Whigham, Wayne Bergeron, Mason Williams, Rod Degeorge (Guitar Gods Review), Company Grand, High Street, and multiple other modern ensembles.
As a tubist, he has performed with the 204th Army Band, the Eugene Symphony, the Oregon Mozart Players, the Central Oregon Symphony, the Corvallis Symphony, the Newport Symphony, and bands in Disneyland.
